Michalis Tzanoulinos

Originates from Falatado in Tinos island. He lived in Athens from 1956 till 2002.

He moved to Andros, the island that has inspired him since he was 6 years old. At the age of 14 he discovered the talent of painting and immediately felt that it was the route that would lead him to happiness.

He studied sketching for 3 years at Vassilis Pantelakis Art School, and then at the artist Nikos Krideras. He also studied civil engineering at the university of Larissa in 1977 but he left it to dedicate himself to art.

He studied the Cycladic light with its difficulties, and the shores of the islands. He fell in love with the locals and the boats which he described as “the arks of dreams”.

He has exhibited his works in Andros since 1978 and in Athens at many galleries successfully for 11 years, but he has mainly built his clientele on his own. A lot of his works are also exhibited in museums and private collections in Greece and abroad.
